We consider membership to be part of our accountability before God. In the New Testament, Christians were members of churches and were added to the church (both the local church and the covenant community) by baptism (Acts 2:41, 47; 4:4). It is members who encourage and rebuke one another and who can be held accountable by the church, even be removed from church membership by a process of discipline (1 Corinthians 5:4, 7) and can be restored to membership (2 Corinthians 2:6-8).
We receive into membership those who make a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ as well as those who transfer from other churches or reaffirm their faith. It is not necessary for new members to hold every one of our doctrinal beliefs, though it is a requirement of officers. If you would like to become a member, talk to the pastor or one of the elders.
